At the very first turn out we got out of the truck to look over a canyon like area and a fighter jet flew right into the canyon, dipping low and wiggling its wings a bit to fit. We meet up with some folks there who let us know that this is a routine practice area for a nearby base and that we might even see a couple of "dog fights".
We did see another, then in the actual valley there were 2 who flew by is, again!
We were 250+ feet below sea level!
And it was dry, dry, dry, but only 60 degrees! The hottest temp in the country was recorded here, 134*!
